NCR (No Carbon Required) paper uses a micro-encapsulated coating on the back of the top sheet (CB) and a color-developing clay coating on the front of the bottom sheet (CF). Pressure from writing or printing breaks the capsules, creating an instant image transfer to the sheets below — no messy carbon paper required.
