Carbonless note paper (also known as NCR paper or no carbon required paper) is a coated paper that transfers markings from the top sheet to the sheets below without carbon paper. It uses micro-encapsulated dyes (CB coating) and a reactive clay coating (CF coating). The pressure from writing or printing breaks the capsules, creating a chemical reaction that produces an image.
