NCR (No Carbon Required) carbon paper uses micro-encapsulated dye on the back of the sheet (CB coating) and a reactive clay coating on the front of the next sheet (CF coating). Pressure from writing or printing breaks the capsules, creating an image. Unlike thermal paper, NCR paper works without heat and is ideal for forms where multiple copies are needed instantly.
