Carbonless paper (also called NCR paper) uses a micro-encapsulated chemical coating on the back of the top sheet and a reactive clay coating on the front of the bottom sheet. When pressure is applied (by typing, impact printer, or pen), the capsules burst and create an image — no messy carbon sheet in between. Carbon paper is a separate disposable insert. Carbonless is cleaner, faster, and more efficient for multi-part forms.
No. Carbonless paper is designed for impact printing (dot matrix, daisy wheel, typewriter) or handwriting. Heat from laser printers can activate the coating prematurely, and inkjet ink may not adhere properly. Use our thermal paper rolls or bond paper for laser/inkjet applications.
